In what was a below par performance there weren’t many positives to take from the game beyond getting a point when we should have lost.

We didn’t really play apart from the starting 10 and closing 10 minutes of the game so who would you say was our best performer today?

Glad to know we still have the fighting spirit…but where the hell was it the first 80 minutes?!?
Who would’ve known Obertan can be effective as a sencond striker, but I believe that’s where he played against Bursaspor too. Park’s now put himself back into the “we’ll call you when we need you list” and I think we should see more of Obertan in his place.
We are in desperate need of a good creative midfielder. I hope some of our guys like Cleveley and Eikrem can stake their claim soon, but presently this issue is glaring. It seems like Carrick is only effective if he’s playing alongside Scholes and can’t be relyed on to be the main ball distributer. At this point, I think we should either move him, or merely view him as a squad player to fill in when needed – but he’s lost his place in the regular starting 11 IMO.

My man of the match is BeBe.

Eikrem was again MOTM in our last reserves game against west brom..He created both our goals in a 2-2 draw..His passing(both long and short) and vision are just too good to be wasted at reserve level..I really don’t know what this guy has to do to earn a place in the first team..He would be a real asset particularly when scholesy is not around to link up play with our strikers/wingers..

I was watching Rohit, his well timed ball for Vermijl and his corner for Fornasier but dunno if he would have been any use today.
We played 442 and I’m not sure if he is developed enough to play in a 2 man centre midfield pairing, in a 3 def 2 not so sure.

We looked devoid of creativity today so it couldn’t have hurt to atleast try.

      • Rohit says:

I was referring to him coming on as a sub, in a three man mid..He’s surely not ready to play in a 2 man mid at senior level..Pretty sure he would have done well in a 3 man mid with nani and obertan on the flanks and kiko up ahead..
Also its actually more in reference to the present situation where we are extremely reliant on scholesy and without him don’t have an ounce of creativity..

Btw dzsudzsak scored 2 more last week:)

Didn’t see Dzsudzsak might be time to write that piece (giving you full credit of course!)

We def lack creativity without Scholes when he came on against Wolves last week we looked better and we missed him today too. Pretty sad we’re still relying on a man that will be 36 in 3 days.

Obertan was decent today but for some reason I can’t see him and Kiko starting both seem to do better in cameo appearances.

          Cracking goal from Kiko though

fergy has gone blind and eikrem wont make it at united since he is talented but not as big n tall like gibson and carrick

    • Chudi Onwuazor says:

Eikrem is a reported 6’1 whilst Gibson is 6ft. Scholes is only 5’8 size isn’t the factor

  6. Rohit says:

Initially i thought kiko and obertan would come on for one of the strikers and park thus maintaining the 442 so i was really surprised to see us move into a 451 particularly while chasing the game..But kudos to kiko and obertan, they really used their pace and fresh legs to stretch villa’s tired defense..Kiko’s opener was a super strike..We really came alive in the last 15……

  7. fakrul says:

Eikrem will get his chance… obertan can be a squad player and come as a sub at this moment…. but we should start w macheda and hernandez if we go 4-4-2 if we go for 4-2-3 – 1 we should start w vandersar, rafael, smalling, vidic , fabio/evra, fletcher, giggs/anderson nani, berbaov/eikrem hernandez and macheda
