Looking back through our history we have been blessed with a number of quality players that would walk any team in the world.

I could sit here until the end of the season reeling off names of some of the United’s finest players  but trying to put down 11 onto a sheet as the finest to have played is a different story and I would be chopping and changing until I either go gray or crazy.

Having a look through our parent site Football Fancast I came across a writer’s attempt to name a greatest United XI of all time and whilst some positions are dead certs ie George Best makes ANYBODY’S team, others will be contentious. In terms of this list you can’t question any of the players selected, as the writer pointed out, it is his list but you can attempt to make stronger arguments for those who have been omitted.

1 position I know will raise a lot of questions is at left back, we have been blessed with two of finest in recent memory in Denis Irwin and Patrice Evra but who do you pick? In central midfield Roy Keane is our most successful captain ever but would he get into your team? Eric Cantona is often credited with our return to the top but is there a space for him?

Have a look at the list by clicking the picture below and let us know what you agree/disagree with, if you have any oppositions let us know who you would include!

Do all of these legends make your greatest XI team?

X Factor for strippers? Hmm would be more interesting then that Cher Lloyd!
