The Premiership match at Old Trafford tonight between Manchester United and Arsenal is one of the biggest so far in the 2010/11 Premier League season. The Red Devils and the Gunners are playing for pride as well as a place at the top of the Premier League table, which is currently held by Arsenal. There is certainly no love lost between the two teams, something that was confirmed by Manchester United defender Patrice Evra’s comments last week. So which players will shine tonight?
One man who is guaranteed to get points for Manchester United and has been doing so for years is Paul Scholes. The former England midfielder is picking up points at an average of 70 a game (the highest of any Premiership footballer playing tonight) and therefore will be a shoe-in for many fantasy football managers.
Nemanja Vidic has also been a solid performer for Man United this season and the Serbian defender will be doing his utmost tonight to ensure that the Red Devils earn a clean sheet. He could even nick a goal, too, which will really bring in the points for him!
Nani and Park both like to play against Arsenal with both scoring in our last meeting with the Gunners in January (Nani’s goal being especially sexual)
Have we forgotten someone?
That’s right Wayne Rooney! The striker scored his first league goal against Arsenal with Everton and his first United league goal against Arsenal too. He scored against Arsenal in both of our league meetings last season and is looking white hot having been away in America for a week on a special training programme.
So that’s the form guide for you, with Scholes, Vidic, Nani, Park & Rooney are our picks but who do you think are the three United (or if your inclined Arsenal) players to watch tonight and who will you be picking in your Picklive Trio?
