Well it’s that time of the year where we getting excited, get the drinks in and have a toast to another year.

Oh and celebrate the New Year too.

Today marks Sir Alex’s 69th birthday and he is as strong as ever. Weeks ago he broke Sir Matt Busby’s record for the longest serving United manager as well as engineering United’s return to the top of the table including a victory over Arsenal so this has been a pretty decent month for the old master.

The greatest manager the club has ever seen (along with Sir Matt of course!) as well as the Premier League and the possibly even the world, Sir Alex continues to excel and when they say he can’t or he is past it he pulls it out of the bag again and again.

He said he would knock Liverpool off their perch and we sit on the brink of doing so, a task that some would have said impossible when he joined. The treble winning season is a lasting testimony to his greatness as he lead the club to victory on three fronts and that is just his on field successes as off field he is equally respected and revered.

I remember being at a game against BoltonĀ  few years ago and singing happy birthday whilst I won’t put anyone else through that again I think we’d all do well to raise a glass to Sir Alex and wish him many more years!
