Gallery: Manchester United’s hall of famers

In 2002, the English Football Hall of Fame was launched by the National Football Museum to celebrate the greatest players, teams and managers who’ve made an impact.

Members of the Hall of Fame are selected by a panel made up of some of the biggest names in the game including Sir Alex Ferguson, Sir Bobby Charlton and Gary Lineker. To be considered for induction players/managers must be 30 years of age or older and have played/managed for at least 5 years in England.

Despite these rules the HoF made an exception when it came to one of United’s, Duncan Edwards. Edward’s died at the age of 21 in the Munich air disaster (but had played for 5 years with Manchester United). Edwards is just one of many United inductees, so here we look at the club’s inductees in the English Hall of Fame:
