Have boots will travel – a motto that Ritchie De Laet seems to be living by this term as he has gone on his 3rd loan spell of the season, this time to Portsmouth.

The defender who has had spells at Sheffield United and Preston already this season has joined the Championship side until the end of the season in a move that will disappoint a number of teams who sought the Belgian’s signature.

De Laet, who has been tipped for a bright future after making a number of first team appearances, will gain further first team experience much to the delight of Sir Alex and could go straight into the first team for this weekend’s game against Nottingham Forest.

Pompey currently sit 18th in the table and haven’t won a game, league or otherwise, since December 11th conceeding 13 goals in that time so hopefully De Laet will be able to shore up what appears to be a leaky defence and help them get some points on the board!

I’m not too sure about his United future, but I feel bad that he keeps being bounced around and put on losing teams. It’s not exactly the best way to grow as a player IMO.
