In light of their sexist comments regarding female lino Sian Massey, Andy Gray and partner in crime Richard Keys were dropped from Sky Sports’ broadcast of the Chelsea/Bolton game.
The backlash has been huge and rightly so, some of our readers have voiced their opinion here about the hair brained duo and ‘Twitter King’ Rio Ferdinand has had his say branding the views of the two idiots as prehistoric.
But there is some light at the end of the tunnel!
Gray has been rewarded for his neanderthal like views by being named as the worst football pundit in the game by readers on Football FanCast. The poll, which can be seen here, saw Gray run closely by the bumbling Garth Crooks but ultimately Gray’s buffoonery saw him take the ‘accolade’ with 22% of the vote.
Well The Independent seem to agree with the voters as they picked up on the story and ran with it too here, so congrats are in order for Andy. But Richard shouldn’t feel too left out, had his name been included in the ballot I’m sure he would have ran Gray closer than Garth did.
Ha, Grey’s comment that Messi couldn’t handle playing against Stoke doesn’t help either!
Lets get this in proportion. Their worst crime was to get the offside call wrong. The rest is just real life. Andy Gray worse than Alan Green, who constantly abuses referees and puts his own ridiculous views ahead of the game? “I have a dispute with SAF”-for Gods sake, has SAF noticed and who cares?
