As expected Ryan Giggs has signed an extension to his contract that will see him remain at the club until 2012.

Giggs has won 11 Premier League trophies in his 20 seasons at United and this contract will see him enter an incredible 21st season at Old Trafford.

Giggs is understandably pleased with the new deal saying:

“All I’ve ever wanted to do is play for United and I’ve been lucky enough to do that for 20 years. It is great to know I’m still contributing to the team’s success and I feel I’ve got a lot to offer on and off the pitch. This is an exciting time to be involved with so many good young players coming through.”

Giggs holds the club’s record for most appearances, has scored in every Premier League campaign and has appeared over 600 times in the Premier League so who knows what this new deal will bring in terms of records and achievements.
