With a team that can be described as experimental, United stopped the rot with a 2-0 win over Arsenal.

Sir Alex’s decision to play both Rafael and Fabio paid dividends as both played a part in the win, Fabio scoring the opener and our second coming after Rafael put the ball into the Arsenal danger area allowing Rooney to nod home.

Can’t go without mentioning how monumental VDS, Smalling and Vidic were at the back with the 3 conspiring to compound Arsenal’s disappointment and to round things off Antonio Valencia is back!

So I can smile now following the dross that was the last 1o or so days!

without carrick we looked alot better, we were breaking alot faster he slows down our play with his backwards and sideways passing.

      Whats wrong with you?….

      Great result, and u still look 4 a scapegoat….

      might aswell be scouse.

  3. fakrul chowdhury says:

fabio should start on the left wing from now on…. and valencia on the right…. until nani comes back in … fletcher /oshesa/ rafael should be defensive midfilders…. gigs attacking midfielder .. ronney and hernandez as strikers….

I was worried when I saw the team selection before the game, but I shouldn’t have been. For me one of the best performances of the season and the midfield done well which on paper and against Arsenal you wouldn’t of expected.

Chris Smalling was outstanding and I think Rio’s got a fight on his hands if he thinks he’s just going to slot straight back in to the starting line up. The Da Silva brothers were great with there energy and work rate, also worth pointing out that Gibson played very well and looked better then Carrick has done on many occasions this season. All in all an excellent team performance and well deserved winners:)..

That was as good as it comes..Particularly considering the side we put up..Not one player went missing..Vds, The defense, the twins, gibson, hell gibson stood up,chico was good, valencia the machine is back and scholesy with some delightful passes..Finally wayne, this after a long time looked like the wazza of the old..Excellent first touch, brilliant one touch passing and vision..

P.S- Why the F does VDS want to retire..He’s just too good to be replaced..

    • Chudi says:

Just like to add, did anyone see Scholes’ pass at the end to Rooney, I think I soiled my pants a little, brilliant!

      • Jacob says:

Yes Scholes was brilliant. Wonder what’s all the fuss about Wilshere when you look at the game.

      • Rohit says:

        @chudi

completely loved scholesy..There were atleast three passes that tore arse open..The last one for the counter was just too good..After the slight scuffle he had gone mental i believe, took the ball and fucking pinged it perfectly to wayne’s feet..We’re going to miss this guy..

I’m in agreement with all the positive comments, and I love how Rafael even got to play CM, as if starting on the wing wasn’t enough to prove his versatility.
I also wouldn’t mind seeing Fabio get some starts on the left wing whenever there’s a chance.
It’s terrific having both of them and adding that indispensible value of versatilty to the team. They are almost like JOS, but in the attacking sense of filling holes when needed.

Love it. with the way the midfield has looked this season, shall we see more of this da silva midfield experiment.. Hate to say it but a agreed with the above comment about carrick not playing.. the MF was so much more forward thinking today.
