Nothing he does should surprise us, we’ve seen him score all sorts of goals and play all kinds of passes but I flipped when I saw this.

Moments before this Paul Scholes could have seen red for a challenge on Samir Nasri but with Jack Wilshere in his presence he showed why England fans are praying that the 19 year can step into his shoes.

This pass was out of this world and if Hernandez had managed to finish it rather than hitting it at Almunia would have been one of the finest in the FA Cup purely because of that pass.

Paul Scholes is a joy to watch even at this age and if he doesn’t sign a new deal at the club I genuinely doubt we will truly replace him this summer (or ever for that matter).

Thanks again to Olly

there was a pass BEFORE his red, which IMO, was much better. Similar ball over the top to Rooney, but hit it first time and had back spin on it. Unfortunately, Rooney scuffed the shot when he was one-on-one with Almunia.

Yeah I saw that but I think for the difficulty in doing this first time and having to adjust his body puts this above!

He scores goals a galore, he scores goals. Ohh Paul Scholes he scores goals!

I can watch this pass over and over again!

He still annoyed me, the ginger destroyer! 2 reckless tackles (even though he got the ball the 1st time, he still went in 2-footed) and he could have been off within 10 minutes of entering the game!

He is absolute class though. The pass looks so effortless! He doesn’t hit the ball, he strokes it!

  4. Matt says:

Pure class. We’re going to miss you.

Its not a question of missing it.Its replacing it?
It makes it sound so “hard” he is one of the Worlds best ever midfielders(Tm).
Regardless of what Wenger is saying yet again, after the game at Old Trafford.Move on Wenger.

he was awesome in his time on the pitch today. his passes were the best in a few weeks, and i kind of got a kick out of his aggresiveness. especially the replay where you could see him snarling at nasri.. kind of reminded me of keane abit. i think it was good for the club, the way he had such tenacity, in a time where the club has been playing without that edge..(liverpool game).. i know the tackles werent so smart, but whatever, he got away with it, and i liked it. I also loved te da silva’s today, and i like the way they have that same passion and edge. good stuff today. hope we can carry this over, and more importantly, have this result when we head to emirates. Lucky for us, i think United matchup better against Arsenal than any of the other top clubs.

  7. Jacob says:

About his aggression, erm remember Roy Keane anyone? We need enforcers like him. Gibson and Carrick are too soft. Rooney got his aggression up at some parts too which reminded me a little of our old Keano.

  8. PIP says:

We didn’t replace Keane and we won’t replace Scholes. The best we can hope for is someone who has the same determination and who is willing to learn.

tunacliff from the under 18 looks like he can be similar to keane aslo pogba looks similar to vieria, imagine having the new keane and vieria in our midfield.

normally i’d be in agreement about this being the best moment yesterday, however…..
