Danny Welbeck’s reputation continues to grow this season as he campaigns away from Old Trafford and this goal against Denmark’s u21 side will do him no harm.

Welbeck opened the scoring on the night on the 22nd minute after controlling a poor clearance from Michael Lumb and cracked one off with his left peg giving the keeper no chance.

It was a decent night for United players as Smalling assumed the captain’s armband when Richards went off injured and Tom Cleverley also looked good in the 79 minutes he was on field with some good passing and neat touches.
