Ahead of this weekend’s crunch match with Chelsea Sir Alex has put out a team with the intention of getting the job done tonight but also to remain fresh for Chelsea.

There has been a massive changes from the team that took on Arsenal on Sunday as Smalling and Evans are paired at the back alongside Rafael and John O’Shea whilst Scholes starts in the midfield beside Gibson.

Berbatov is restored to the starting line up and is supported by Valencia and Nani who will provide width.

It is clear to see what Sir Alex is focused on in the two trophies we can still win but with that two goal advantage and the personell selected we should still be able to get through tonight.

Starting XI: van der Sar, Rafael, Evans, Smalling, O’Shea, Nani, Gibson, Scholes, Anderson, Valencia, Berba

Subs: Kuszczak, Evra, Owen, Giggs, Chicharito, Fletcher, Vidic

    subs?
I’m assuming Ando will be the most advanced CM in a 5 man midfield. Should be interesting as we haven’t seen him in that role in awhile. His Gremio fans should be happy.

Does that team fill you with confidence?

oh, I wasn’t intending to look negative there. This team suits me fine, especially given our favorable position coming into the game and giving more big-game experience to Rafael, Ando and Gibson (whom I still haven’t given up on). There’s still tonnes of experience and quality in this line up to finish the job.

LOL you don’t. I was asking the question. The general consesus is this is a weak team, you were one of a few people to actually analyse rather than criticise
