With today’s win over Chelsea, the Premier League title is well within our grasp as just one point will see the trophy returned home.

There has been much talk about United and the strength of our squad. Last summer many of us (myself included) wanted big name signings but instead Sir Alex handled business in his own way.

During the season many of these questions were asked again but Sir Alex and the team continued doing what they were doing and now we are bearing in on League title number 19.

Whilst they are clamouring to shower Sir Alex with praise for the astute signings of Hernandez and Smalling and praising the continual importance of Ryan Giggs now, many wrote us off when it was time to make picks back in August, so lets point them out.

This is where some of the biggest names in the English game predicted Manchester United to finish in the league this season, enjoy!

I’m well aware of being gracious in victory but some of these really are insulting so why not!

Yes,most of them got it wrong didnt they,I remember them all fawning over the Rents at the start of the season,I think we may av the last laugh on the scouse and chelski!

  2. Chudi says:

Micky Quinn you fat waster, an exceptionally big slice awaits you!

  3. steve mcauley says:

as a liverpool fan since 1970, i witnessed the glory years and firmly believe i will witness them again however, i cannot pay tribute to the amazing record of Lfc and ignore a team that will surely surpass it, so although it pains me to say it, fair play to you united, congratulations on knocking us off our (domestic) perch and giving us the incentive now to chase your well deserved record! here’s to the next 20 years of rivalry, hopefully without the sad songs and chants (from BOTH minorities!)

    • Chudi says:

      Well said Steve.
Our rivalry will never be friendly but that doesn’t mean it can’t be civil. Here’s hoping that even in combat those unnecessary chants are left out of it and I look forward to looking horns with your boys next term!

    • RedDon says:

Fair play to you pal. Watched United since the 70’s and went everywhere for over 20 years. Great that we’re on the verge of claiming your ‘title’ of most titles, but some supporters need a reality check. Shanks once said that football is bigger than life and unfortunately some people have taken it quite literally. There is no excuse for rejoicing over the deaths of players or supporters and it disgraces both clubs. I hope that the rivalry between the two biggest clubs in England continues for all time, but without the vile and moronic chants.

  4. kieran says:

To be fair, CSKA London romped there last few games last season and started this year the same. They were the obvious choice. Nobody’s predictions were way off the mark (except Micky Quinn’s of course!!!!)

    • Chudi says:

Not really considering all the players they lost in the summer. People seem to forget they won the title last year by a single point.

  5. The Glutton says:

In truth I stopped reading the papers’ sports sections years ago and you’ve hit the nail on the head why I did so.

Are they still linking us with Patrick Kluivert every year? 😀

  6. George Phillips says:

Well done sir. Every year I intend to record what the ‘experts’ predict and they change their minds so often I forget. Thanks for the info.

  7. Alex says:

Nice one Steve, I’m a 16 year old, supported and loved this team all my life, just wish like you said small minorities from both sets of fans would stop them horrible chants. Fair comment though man.

  8. David Mac says:

Yes….The So called Experts of football…..These morons had not the wit to see the FIGHT THAT WAS IN THE TEAM……They only saw The Team in the fight……NOW FOR THE DOUBLE….I assume these Plonkers will be telling us ‘How Brilliant Barcelona will be’…and that we have no chance….BRING IT ON…..WELL DONE LADS AND THE SUPPORTERS!

The Times should sack this guy and stick to what they do well. News.

  10. Jack says:

i think lots of fans had worries all through out the season, i dont know if it was just fan nerves, as after i while i tend to know bad s**t can happen like last season. cos we should be on for number 20 but a ref and a key injury hurt us at crunch time.

the real test will be at wembley, to see if we can avenge the ghosts of rome when i midfield look dreadful and made fans like me think we need to add quality to avoid a repeat in the future.
