As yesterday’s testimonial came to an end Sky Sports laid on a brilliant video montage of Gary Neville’s career to the the sounds of U2’s ‘One Love’.
The game, those who turned out to honour him on field as well as those who attended paid one of the club’s greatest servants a fitting tribute and Sky carried this on with their brilliant video package at the end of the show which highlighted not only why Neville was one of the finest right backs of his era but also his fervent support of his club, Manchester United.
I remarked yesterday that other clubs claim to have legends but that term has been thrown around so much that it has begun to lose it’s meaning but a man like Gary Neville is a legend in every sense of the word.
