Having agreed a deal to sign earlier, Manchester have continued their transfer dealings as has agreed a £5 million pound move to Sunderland.

It was revealed that Sunderland has made a £12 million pound bid for Gibson along with John O’Shea and last week and whilst Brown and O’Shea still deliberate it appears Gibson is ready to make the move to the Stadium of Light after the two parties agreed terms.

Earlier this year Giovanni Trapattoni insisted that Gibson would have to leave if he wanted to further his career and this past weekend Gibson revealed he would reluctantly do so.

It appears that he sees a move to the Tyne as the perfect opportunity as a void has been created in their midfield following Jordan Henderson’s move to Liverpool.

Gibson has made 58 appearances for scoring 10 goals in this period.
