Having agreed a deal to sign Phil Jones earlier, Manchester United have continued their transfer dealings as Darron Gibson has agreed a £5 million pound move to Sunderland.

It was revealed that Sunderland has made a £12 million pound bid for Gibson along with John O’Shea and Wes Brown last week and whilst Brown and O’Shea still deliberate it appears Gibson is ready to make the move to the Stadium of Light after the two parties agreed terms.

Earlier this year Giovanni Trapattoni insisted that Gibson would have to leave Old Trafford if he wanted to further his career and this past weekend Gibson revealed he would reluctantly do so.

It appears that he sees a move to the Tyne as the perfect opportunity as a void has been created in their midfield following Jordan Henderson’s move to Liverpool.

Gibson has made 58 appearances for United scoring 10 goals in this period.

Dont think he’s runnish, just not United quality.

Sunderland will benefit from him and we can put that money towards someone like Sneijder or Modric.

Although the Everton game was the final nail in his coffin as i was concerned.

I like Gibson. But I have a soft spot for players that can strike the ball as well as he does. Good luck at Sunderland. Bruce will surely put some finishing touches on him.

Honestly I’m in no position of power but if you’re a real Red you support your own. All this he is rubbish and good riddance talk is embarrassing!
I wasn’t a huge Gibson fan but whilst he wears our shirt he gets my full support and he will leave with my best wishes.

same people that slate gibson are the same idiots that slated fletcher, how many players do united have that carry a real goal threat from outside the box????

One less headache. are there any takers for Jonny Evans?

I agree with Chudi and cannot understand the vile vitriol directed at a lad that has come through our own reserves and all he has ever wanted to do was to try and make the grade at a club that he has had a long association with.

As far as I can tell, he’s never held the club or the manager to ransom (unlike…). He’s never had a bad word to say about us fans despite that frankly disgraceful episode with Twitter and yet gets rancorous shite directed at him from sections of our own.

As it happens I think it’s time for him to move on but if the transfer speculation is true, he does so with my best wishes.
