Having agreed a deal to sign Phil Jones earlier, Manchester United have continued their transfer dealings as Darron Gibson has agreed a £5 million pound move to Sunderland.

It was revealed that Sunderland has made a £12 million pound bid for Gibson along with John O’Shea and Wes Brown last week and whilst Brown and O’Shea still deliberate it appears Gibson is ready to make the move to the Stadium of Light after the two parties agreed terms.

Earlier this year Giovanni Trapattoni insisted that Gibson would have to leave Old Trafford if he wanted to further his career and this past weekend Gibson revealed he would reluctantly do so.

It appears that he sees a move to the Tyne as the perfect opportunity as a void has been created in their midfield following Jordan Henderson’s move to Liverpool.

Gibson has made 58 appearances for United scoring 10 goals in this period.

A lot of fans might, scratch that WILL disagree with me but I think we might later regret this.

if he wecobe much better im sure he’ll be back , maybe we spend a few more millions in him but hes of of those i would love to see improve and back with us if he can hold a place or walk straight into first team

Possibly, but best wishes to him, good business for Sunderland, straight replacement for Henderson and 15mil to spare, I think Gibo will thrive with regular football, Good luck to him and Brucy next year.

Hallelujah, my prayers have been answered and we collect money for him too, win win.

Bring on Pogba and Cleverley with a Nasri / Modric typr signing.

Will be interesting to see how he does. In all likelyhood, I think he would’ve risen to a useful squad player but not being in the prefered starting XI. If he wishes to play every week than its within his right to move. However, he did put in stronger performances as the season came to a close leading me to wonder “what if”. I guess we’ll see now that he has his chance.

I know ppl have said he isnt what you would call a united player. But me personaly i think he has got stronger as the season has gone on i think another season and he would have been a asset for us

This must be a win-win-win situation. At ManUtd Gibson will never get the chance to develop. I think Gibson could become a good midfielder for a mid-table Premier League team, so I guess he will be an asset for Sunderland many seasons to come.

I thought he was crap thats just me but then again i dont wear rose tinted glasses thats why i never hear you talking about rooney saying what a poor season he has had. Bar the last few games he has had a shocker sell him and get a player who can score the goals rooney did when he first went to united then i think you would have a stike force to match ours

    • cont drwg says:

you’re counting edin “worth every penny” dzeko as part of your “strike force” right?

    • Josh says:

Good enough to score goal of the season on 11th Feb!!!

Or has that just been chalked up to a fluke by the worlds most overated club?

And anyway, you only have one good striker and he’s desperate to leave you and go to Madrid now!!!

I’m gonna be one of the many United fans who are gonna be wearing a massive “We told you so” smile on my face when that money grabber ditches you for the Galacticos!!

Isnt that what Rooney has done this Year ?….

  8. Kaelon says:

Manchester City have a terrible strikeforce – bar Tevez. Adebayor is lazy, Balotelli has loads of potential but a way too much attitude and Dzeko hasn’t done anything for you (except maybe warm the bench).

I’d much rather have Rooney and Hernandez

    • Chudi says:

      Seconded.

Adebayor can be good but doesn’t exert himself, Balotelli is decent but too much attitude and Dzeko is Dzeko haha!

Rooney, Hernandez, Berbatov, Owen and Welbeck anyday.

  9. MCFC says:

I would have Hernandez i think he is a breath of freash air. his movement of the ball is second to none but as for rooney he was 30 games into the season and only scored 2 epl goals thats really bad

    • RedDevilKile says:

rooney has been rebuilding his house, this year his house looks happy and he’ll be back on top
