Danny Welbeck will return back to England as the only player to have scored for England at the Euro u21 competition after he scored a header against the Czech Republic tonight in England’s 2-1 loss.

Having scored England’s equaliser in the opening game against Spain, it was Welbeck who gave England hope of progression into the Semi finals when headered home in the 75th minute.

After good work from Welbeck himself despite being surrounded by a plethora of Czech players he worked it back out wide to Daniel Sturridge who crossed in and found Welbeck who had worked his way into the box.

England will have been confident of progressing but the Czech Republic had other ideas and two late goals saw England eliminated at the group stage.

The game also saw an eye catching display from Chris Smalling and a promising appearance from Phil Jones whilst Tom Cleverley had a chance early where he should have hit the target with a volley.

  1. FIFA says:

england’s U-21 are just as shit as england’s first team

  2. Along with the whole thing which seems to be building within this subject material, your viewpoints are generally relatively stimulating. Having said that, I am sorry, because I can not subscribe to your whole idea, all be it exhilarating none the less. It seems to us that your comments are not entirely justified and in fact you are generally yourself not really entirely certain of your argument. In any event I did take pleasure in reading it.
