Continued speculation linking winger with exit is ridiculous

There seems to have been endless speculation about the future of Nani since the day the Portuguese winger arrived.

A promising start to his Old Trafford career was followed by a couple of frustrating seasons but after last season, particularly the first 6/7 months, Nani is surely now a key player in our first-team. His omission from the Champions League final starting eleven, and the arrival of Ashley Young would suggest otherwise, but I think Nani will get even better next year.

Nani recently said that it would be nice to work with Jose Mourinho at some point in his career, which once again fuelled rumours of an Old Trafford exit, but who wouldn’t want to work with Mourinho.

Nani topped the Premier League assists table last season as well as scoring 10 goals in all competitions. Many of these assists/goals were important equalisers or winners too and it was often Nani who provided something special when we really needed it last season.

He is the sort of player that other fans hate, which surely only makes him more likeable to us. I think he is a far better option than Ashley Young and even Antonio Valencia so I would be very disappointed to see him leave.

When it comes down to it, I don’t think Nani will be leaving anytime soon. Sir Alex has put time and effort into Nani and is finally reaping the rewards. Nani too, has great respect for the gaffer and his importance is recognised by his team-mates, who voted him player of the year last season.

The winger himself has reiterated his desire to stay at Old Trafford numerous times, proving that all the speculation is ridiculous.
