As the search to ‘replace’ Paul Scholes continues, various names have been offered up.

Inter Milan’s Wesley Sneijder has reportedly been a target since last summer whilst Luka Modric has garnered praise from Sir Alex himself even if he has subsequently stated that he would like to move to Chelsea.

But in the past month in a rather shocking turn of events, Arsenal’s Samir Nasri has emerged as a target.

Although it began as just murmurs, rumours of United’s interest in the midfielder and him being open to a move to Old Trafford have continued and it is being reported that he will tell Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger that he would like to move to Manchester United this week.

His signing would come as a major coup for United and is one that is likely to draw the ire of Arsenal fans as well as Wenger but most United fans would be happy to see him join the ranks and become our fourth summer signing, none more so than the man he is ‘replacing’ Paul Scholes.

In quotes taken from the Daily Mail, Scholes spoke of Arsenal and the struggle they face next season especially with them potentially losing 3 stars in Cesc, Nasri and Clichy saying,

“It doesn’t help, either, that they are potentially going to lose their best players in Fabregas, Nasri and Clichy. Is Nasri coming to United? I hope so!”

It remains to be seen if Nasri will actually break camp and switch sides but he is making all the right noises stating any move will have been motivated for the want to win trophies, something he has a huge chance of doing at Manchester United.

Pls push through a move to a nursery school and start from there. I think Nasri will finally end up in Man Utd.

Mr email scammer – You’ve just confirmed the illiterate that you are. Man Utd is not a place, so one can’t use ‘at’. One can say ‘at old trafford’ because old trafford is a place. Get a better work man and stop disgracing yourself.
