As the search to ‘replace’ Paul Scholes continues, various names have been offered up.

Inter Milan’s Wesley Sneijder has reportedly been a target since last summer whilst Luka Modric has garnered praise from Sir Alex himself even if he has subsequently stated that he would like to move to Chelsea.

But in the past month in a rather shocking turn of events, Arsenal’s Samir Nasri has emerged as a target.

Although it began as just murmurs, rumours of United’s interest in the midfielder and him being open to a move to Old Trafford have continued and it is being reported that he will tell Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger that he would like to move to Manchester United this week.

His signing would come as a major coup for United and is one that is likely to draw the ire of Arsenal fans as well as Wenger but most United fans would be happy to see him join the ranks and become our fourth summer signing, none more so than the man he is ‘replacing’ Paul Scholes.

In quotes taken from the Daily Mail, Scholes spoke of Arsenal and the struggle they face next season especially with them potentially losing 3 stars in Cesc, Nasri and Clichy saying,

“It doesn’t help, either, that they are potentially going to lose their best players in Fabregas, Nasri and Clichy. Is Nasri coming to United? I hope so!”

It remains to be seen if Nasri will actually break camp and switch sides but he is making all the right noises stating any move will have been motivated for the want to win trophies, something he has a huge chance of doing at Manchester United.

Will you take a picture of his face and post it because I fail to understand how anyone will see his face when he is in his office with the player when he has the meeting

interesting comment by Scholsey but I cant see Wenger letting Nasri come to us unless the player himself pushes for it

Mr email scammer, you do not have to insult every bloke that leaves a comment on this article. Who do you think you are? A linguist? Please take a break and next time, try to be civil. If we can land Nasri then it will be great, but if we can’t then Fergie should better start placing his hopes on our home grown players.

    • Mr email scammer says:

Not a linguist just not a moron. The sheer shite talking that you see on articles is unreal. Fair enough, you have a problem with what I said and that’s fine. At least you’d the decency to address your issue in a respectable format. Posting a comment in txt form is rude and if you are a member of any Internet fourm it is widely banned. The other gentleman didn’t didnt even know the name of the player in question and it was mentioned in the Title. And the third gentleman sums up my argument of people constantly posting crap ” the look on wengers face” ……. PS Nasri is a good player and I would like to see him at OT but it’s all paper talk united will sign players like they always did, quietly
