Sir Alex has ruled out any more signings, David Gill says there may be one more whilst the players are ready to group together and help fill the void created by Paul Scholes’ absence.

As a fan you take heart in the player’s enthusiasm and confidence that they can come together to lessen the blow of Scholes retirement and Anderson is the latest player to throw his voice behind this belief.

The Brazilian midfielder is about to begin his 5th season as a United player and having been touted as a replacement for Scholes it appears he is ready to step up to the plate as he told Sky Sports News,

“Scholes was amazing, a legend, but it means more opportunity, more space for me.

“Scholes was one player where I learn a lot, he was unbelievable and for me the best midfielder in the world.

“I think Scholes was very important for the team as he had amazing quality, but I think everyone together can take his position.”

Ando…lose some weight, sharpen your passing, improve on your vision…then maybe..maybe you can come half way to Scholes’ playing

he’s certainly got quality but needs to play a little further up the pitch

I’m still suprised at how few noticed his improved consistency last season. His first couple seasons he’d only perform well in about half his starts (or worse in 09-10); but last season I’d say there were barely a handful a performances which were subpar.

I’m not saying he’s proven to be a world class player yet; but I feel he’s shown enough that he’s earned the chance to show whether he can become that.
