‘What If…?’ is the one question that will hang over Owen Hargreaves’ injury plagued time at Manchester United.

The midfielder enjoyed a strong first season, winning the Champions League and the Premier League before injury spoiled the remainder of his 3 years here.

There were numerous false dawns and set backs before he finally walked away from Old Trafford this summer.

Since he has been using YouTube to prove his fitness to potential suitors and whilst the Vancouver White Caps have expressed an interest he has strongly been linked with Roy Hodgson’s West Brom but if he had his way he would be at Old Trafford even if it meant playing for nothing.

Speaking to the Daily Mail the midfielder said,

“At one stage I did offer to play for nothing this season, just to stay on.

“But they said, ‘You don’t want to do that’ and they were probably right.

“I don’t blame them for letting me go. I can understand it. There comes a point when you have to say this hasn’t worked out. The game has moved on. See you later, all the best.”
