In a season where a number of players have shone and stolen the headlines, it’s easy to forget to direct praise where it’s due.

Anderson has come in for lots of stick since joining United.

Injuries amongst other things have derailed his progress as a player and whilst he had shone he failed to do it consistently.

But towards the end of last season he began to string good performances together as well as getting amongst the goals.

And following a good preseason, his first at the club despite joining in 2007, he has carried it on this season to the pleasure of Sir Alex.

Speaking to Inside United, the manager heaped praise on Anderson saying,

“He’s been tremendous, the boy.

“He’s had a couple of long-term injuries which haven’t helped him, but in the last year or so, he’s steered clear of injury.

“That means he’s training every day so his fitness levels are much better. And he’s maturing so you can see the consistency in his game.”

Although a different type of player to what I had first anticipated, Anderson has an excellent engine on him and could develop into a very good box to box player for us. There is more to come from Ando and he seems a little more settled this season having been given a run of games in the first team. Got to remember this was a player tipped for greatness at a very young age, and given his relatively young age and potential, there is still plenty of time for him to achieve that.
Hope he can keep up the good form. And no we don’t still need Sneijder before all the responses start flooding in!!!

I said all along that he was looking much improved last season. I think some people fail to notice progress and simply notice players who are already at their best. Though he has room for growth; I’d hardly consider Ando “a work in progress”. He’s presently contributing wonderfully to the team and if he stays healthy I’m sure more are bound to notice.

Ando has started the season very well and hopefully he will produce over the whole season. He is a talent and was really highly rated when we bought him. He has great ability but its been about his determination and consistency. I think he is starting to mature now, like Nani started to do when he was 22-23. If he keeps improving no one will even think about Sneijder. He is a 10 goal a season midfielder, but I will settle for 5-6 this season and see that as progress.

I feel Ando is going to improve as the season goes on,he has been made to play several role in midfield but he is more of an attackin midfielder than a DM.I think alot of people will see the stuff he is made of when he is allowed to play as a central midfielder. The return Darren fletcher would bring the best out Anderson.I feel he is a special talent with enormous potentials and am his biggest fan.He will be better than sneijder for us this season…
