Sir Alex Ferguson feels Wayne Rooney may be about to have his best season goal wise following his excellent start to the season.
The striker, who has hit back to back hat tricks in his last two league games, has already found the back of the net 8 times and looks to be in a fine vein of form.
2 seasons ago, before an injury against Bayern Munich curtailed his season, Rooney was flying and helped himself to 34 goals and with the predatory instincts of the rejuvenated Javier Hernandez beside him United could be about to strike goal scoring gold with Rooney bettering that total,
“I’m sure it’s a target for him.
“He doesn’t go out at the start of the season thinking that way but as the season progresses that could change.
“Two years ago Wayne’s target was to go over 30 and he reached it very quickly.
“If he gets to that target again I will be absolutely delighted because with Javier’s ability to score we could have two goalscorers well above 25.”
