The list of superlatives that have not been used to describe Ryan Giggs must be a very small one.

Aged 37 he still has magic in boots, wowing fans as if he was still 20 and last night he did just that with a wonderful effort to hand Manchester United a share of the points against Champions League opponents Benfica.

Whilst he may not make as many appearance as he once did, he showed that he can still be relied upon and following his brilliant strike, defender Patrice Evra paid him a huge compliment telling Sky Sports that the Welshman is a ‘legend’:

“We don’t use that word legend for many players, but for him it’s really easy to use that word.

“For me, he’s the best player I ever played with.

“He’s 37 years old, but he looks like he’s never won anything because he is training hard in every training session and every game.

“The goal he scored, for me, is just normal because it’s Ryan Giggs. If it was another player we’d say well done, but it’s Ryan Giggs, for me, it’s just normal. He’s a legend.”
