There were no fewer than 8 changes to the team last night yet Berbatov, the joint winner of last year’s Golden Boot, still found himself an unused substitute.

Despite having made just 2 appearances this season, the last being against West Brom in our opening league game, has moved to reassure the 30 year old that he is still part of the picture:

There had been much speculation regarding Berbatov’s future during the summer but opted to keep hold of the Bulgarian rather than sell him despite solid interest from but in the final year of his contract with his chances looking limited, Berbatov may be considering his position.
