Jose Mourinho has long been touted as future manager of Manchester United.
The former Chelsea manager has enjoyed success in England, Italy and is now trying his hand in Spain against Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona.
Having built a strong reputation since running down the Old Trafford touchline in 2004, Mourinho went from being an adversary to a friend of Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scot has stated that he sees a lot of himself in the man who refers to him simply as ‘Boss’.
Speaking in a new book on the Portuguese manager, Jose Mourinho, The Secrets of his Success, Sir Alex said:
“I look at Jose and I see myself reflected in many of the things he does.
“In the first year at Chelsea when I saw him running along the touchline at Old Trafford, he reminded me of my first years at Aberdeen, jumping, raising my arms, celebrating.
“We’re only human. We can’t hide our emotions. They’re always there, they’re part of who we are, of our character.”
