Manchester United new boy Frederic Veseli has spoken of his delight at signing for Manchester United, after leaving the Etihad Stadium and crossing the city.

The Swiss defender had been part of City’s ‘Elite Development Squad’ and got a taste of first team action on their US tour last summer but will switch over to the red side of Manchester with the hopes of breaking into the first team.

Speaking to the club’s official website, the 19 year old said:

“I am very happy and it is an honour to sign for Manchester United.

“I can’t wait to get started, to work hard and do everything I can to help the team. I am looking forward to showing everybody what I can do on the pitch.

“I am very thankful to Sir Alex Ferguson for bringing me to such a great club.

“Manchester United has a long history of younger players coming through and hopefully I can follow and do the same.”

Does this transfer qualify for a ‘Welcome to Manchester’ sign?

He sounds a right wind-up artist.
    I like that attitude.
Can we not get a picture of Frederic kissing the United badge, that will seal the deal for me.
One (sadly) departs and off we go again, pinning our hopes on that we have found what we are looking for.
    Good luck Fred.

There are questions raised as to why we’ve taken a player whom ‘the noisy neighbors’ didn’t believe in after witnessing his development far more than our scouts ever had.
That being said, it’s not exactly a high risk move; so if he proves himself it would turn into quite a coup, not to mention a being quite a thorn in their side.
