Competition is, and has always been fierce at Old Trafford.

With quality players vying for a place in the starting line up every week inevitably someone will have to miss out.

Case in point upfront, where last season’s Golden Boot winner Dimitar Berbatov can’t seem to get a game for love nor money, whilst Javier Hernandez is having to make do with sharing striking duties with Danny Welbeck.

Brazilian twins Rafael and Fabio have long been touted for bright futures at the club, but whilst Rafael has progressed in the right back spot, Fabio has struggled.

The ever present Patrice Evra has proved an insurmountable object for Fabio whilst bad luck with injuries have proved a further obstacle.

Despite starting last year’s Champions League final, Fabio has been restricted to just 15 appearances this season thus Sir Alex Ferguson has come to the decision to let him go out on loan as he told United Review:

“Fabio will go on loan next season to give him concentrated first-team experience.

“I have already talked to him and he understands the value of playing regularly at a higher level than we can give him at the moment.”
