Manchester United have started their summer business by securing the future of two current players.

As stated at the club’s award ceremony, Paul Scholes has signed a one year extension to the deal that he signed in January.

The midfielder came out of retirement to aid United’s title charge, and whilst United were unsuccessful in retaining their title, his return was undoubtedly a success.

But this will be Scholes’ last contract as Sir Alex also confirmed at the award ceremony that this coming season will be Scholes’, as well as Ryan Giggs’, last.

There was also a new deal for keeper Ben Amos.

Amos made his first Premier League start in January against Stoke and despite having the figures of both David De Gea and Anders Lindegaard in front of him, is thought to be held in high regard at the club hence him being offered a new 3 year deal.
