United Target Set For New Talks

With Manchester United’s interest in James Rodriguez said to be increasing, the Porto player is set for new talks with his club.

Last week with talk of Nani being on his way out of Old Trafford, there were reports that the Columbian attacker was being looked at as an alternative to to the Portuguese winger. And it seems United’s apparent renewed interest is said to have concerned Porto.

Portuguese press have reported that United have already had an approach turned down and as Rodriguez has a £40m buyout clause in a contract he signed last year, they intend to get every penny of it if they do in fact sell the starlet.

Whilst Silvio Sandri, Rodriguez’s representative, hasn’t confirmed that there has been a move for his client he did confirm in O Jogo that there would be talks between him and his club, leading one to believe that there has been some sort of development (although this equally involve a club that isn’t Manchester United):

“Really there does not exist any big news about this but it is a subject we need to analyse.

“In a couple of weeks I will fly to Portugal and I expect to have a meeting with the Porto directors to discuss the situation.

“I cannot offer more details because it is a very complex subject.”
