Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Nemanja Vidic has returned to full training ahead of the upcoming Premier League season.
Vidic has been out of action since our December clash against with Basel where he rupture cruciate ligaments in his knee, but in recent weeks he has been stepping up his efforts to be ready for the season’s start.
Whilst the team is on tour in Shanghai, Vidic remains at Carrington trying to work his way back to fitness, and although he may not be ready for our first fixture against Everton, his return will prove a boost especially with news that Jonny Evans is out following surgery and Chris Smalling recently broke a metatarsal bone.
Speaking at his presser this morning, Sir Alex said:
“It’s not 100 per cent that Jonny Evans and Vida will start the season.
“Jonny will start running today. Vida and Phil Jones started full training today, which is very positive.
“If I can keep Rio fit, then Vidic and Jones should give us ample cover.”
