Some good news this evening as Darren Fletcher has made the bench against Aberdeen in a benefit match for Neil Simpson.

Fletcher has been out since December but last week it was revealed that he had been training with the Scottish national team, so this is a further step on his road to recovery.

Sir Alex has fielded a team that blends youth and experience in a benefit game for his former player.

Starting XI: David De Gea, Michael Keane, Tyler Blackett, Thomas Thorpe, Rio Ferdinand (Captain), Nicholas Powell, Anderson, Federico Macheda, Bebe, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes

Subs: Larnell Cole, Clayton Blackmore, Samuel Johnstone, Darren Fletcher, Quinton Fortune, Adnan Januzaj, Dwight Yorke
