Angelo Henriquez’s move to Manchester United looks set to go through this week, and the young striker has already said goodbye to his team mates at Universidad de Chile.

The striker has been linked with Manchester United for some time now, and back in March 2011 The Daily Mail revealed we would have first refusal on the Chilean. He scored 11 goals this past season and helped Universidad to the league title as well as the Copa Libertadores semi finals, and it appears this has prompted Sir Alex to swoop for the young talent.

Yesterday it was revealed that he was having a medical at Bridgewater Hospital ahead of a £4m move to Old Trafford, and whilst there has been no confirmation from the club that a deal has been struck, it appears the 18 year old has been saying his goodbyes to his old team mates.

Speaking to Radio Bio Bio, Henriquez’s team mate Igor Lichnovsky said:

“We are very happy for Angelo. We expect him to do well.

“He deserves it for what he did in the Copa Libertadores and because of the person he is.

“This is very important for the squad as it serves to spread encouragement to the rest of the team.”
