Having wrapped up a deal to bring Robin Van Persie to Old Trafford, Sir Alex Ferguson and Robin Van Perie spoke to MUTV on the subject with Sir Alex claiming the deal only took place because RVP wanted to come to the club:

“Robin is a world-class striker with a proven record in England and in European football.

“His talents need no introduction to our fans – he has scored a number of goals against us in some classic battles with his former club.

“His movement, finishing and all-round ability are outstanding.”

Van Persie added:

“I am looking forward to following in the footsteps of so many great strikers, bringing my experience and playing my part to help the team compete for the biggest trophies in the game. I can’t wait to get started.”

Sir Alex continued:

“The boy wanted to come. He turned down various clubs. If he hadn’t told Arsenal he wanted to go to Manchester United, the transfer wouldn’t have happened.

“It (the transfer) has given everyone a lift. I have a complication to my life (selection). I don’t know how I managed in 1999.

“They can gel together. Robin’s best position is furthest up the pitch. The most important thing is to win what we want to win. These players can help us to do that.”

Notably Sir Alex also revealed that his summer spending wasn’t over and that he was looking for a new signing for “one more position” but would only dip into the market “if a certain player came available”.

Quotes lol – get yourself a big bucket of salt to go with that. There are dozens of quotes from both of them to contradict every word of it.

And nice to see another 5% wiped off the value of Man U tody alone. Fergies poor business sense in buying a near 30 year old for so much while Arsenal pick up Podolski for half the price certainly hasn’t fooled the markets. That makes Man U now worth less than a third of their own valuation but then everyone thinks they’ve got the most valuable club at home lol

its ok as long as fans ‘believe’…. get season tickets, buy rvp shirts, etc

then glazers take a bit more money out…..

So RVp will help MU to the quadruple. The treble had been done before.MU must set new records as befitting one red faced. After completing the domestic treble,MU face Barcelona in the cl final
and are oods on favourites to complete a unique quad.
The only problem is mid way through the epl season,RVP and bull dog are both injured in robust tackles. They are facing a lengthy lay off which could be until the last week of May 2013.
Alas due to the absence of their two sharp shooters,MU are beaten again for the third time.
The red faced tears his hair off at missing out on a historic moment.
This scenario may or may not take place. All epl teams are fired up when playing MU.So it aint that
straight forward as MU sweeping all before them.
Btw,I’ve a sneaky feeling MC will retain the title.
