Pachucha’s chairman Jesus Martinez Patino claimed that United had been interested in Herrera back in May but nothing came of said interest.
Herrera, who was named as the outstanding player at this year’s Toulon tournament, is also on the radar of Liverpool, and it is believed they agreed a first refusal deal for the midfielder in April.
But Fassi claims Olympic gold medalist Herrera could go to either club as he told ESPN:
“There is an official interest.
“We have the document, but there’s nothing else to add at this time.
“We want him to continue in Pachuca but we know he’s going to emigrate to England, though. Manchester United and Liverpool have talked to us.
“At whatever moment he wants, he can leave Pachuca and the club will give him the opportunity to do so.”
