“Perhaps it is better that he did not join us”

I presume it is fair to say Dimitar Berbatov isn’t popular in Italy after being slammed for the second time in 2 days, this time by Juvetus manager Massimo Carrera.

Yesterday Fiorentina released an angry statement berating the Bulgarian for his conduct during transfer negotiation between them and Manchester United,  and although they also took aim at Juventus who it appeared had hijacked the Florence club’s move, Juventus would suffer the same fate as he snubbed both clubs to sign for west London outfit Fulham.

After pulling a no show in Turin, stand-in Juventus coach Massimo Carrera spoke out against Berbatov labelling him ‘unreliable’:

“It’s the first time I have seen a situation like that.

“Seeing what happened, perhaps it is better that he did not join us as we are talking about an unreliable player.”
