Despite being just a few games into his Manchester United career, Shinji Kagawa has gained many admirers already with his performances.

Intelligent on and off the ball, the Japanese playmaker has added another dimension to Manchester United’s attack and this hasn’t gone unnoticed by one of the club’s best players, Paul Scholes.

A man of immense talent himself, Scholes can appreciate a good player when he sees one and in Kagawa, the veteran midfielder has sees a player  that brings a similar set of qualities to the table as he did in his younger years:

“Shinji is just a clever footballer who gets into those great positions where it’s difficult for other teams to pick him up.

“He’s always on the move which makes it easier for the midfielders to find him.

“He really fits in with the way we play. It’s important that he links up well with the midfielders and centre forwards and he’s already shown he’s clever enough to do that.

“He’s very intelligent and someone we all enjoy playing with.”
