Henriquez joined United this summer but has had to wait to make his debut, when it finally came he capped it with a goal, scoring a back post header as United beat Newcastle last Friday.
Following an injury to Marnick Vermijl on Monday, he was drafted in to start against Sunderland and crafted a good chance for himself as United fought to a draw in a tough game at Eppleton.
Henriquez himself has said he is here to get an education before he considers the first team and that game will have taught him a fair bit about what it takes to make it in England and Warren Joyce is happy to see the Chilean fitting in so well:
“Angelo is a great lad. He’s come to the country and fitted in well.
“He’s working hard in training but we had three forwards up there [at Sunderland] even if we didn’t play like that in the first half.
“It wasn’t just one up front – we had three forwards looking for rotations but we didn’t retain the ball long enough to get into positions where we could develop those situations.”
