It appears Anderson’s hamstring injury is a little more serious than expected, with The Times stating the midfielder could face being out for 8 weeks.

Anderson had just begun to find form when he was withdrawn in the first half against Reading, a game in which he scored United’s first equaliser, complaining about his hamstring.

The Brazilian has missed both games since and although Sir Alex stated that it wasn’t serious and the midfielder would be out for 3 to 4 weeks, today The Times are reporting that medical staff at Manchester United have discovered a tear in his hamstring that is likely to keep him out for double the amount of time it was initially expected to.

This is just the latest in a long line of injuries for Anderson and it couldn’t have come at a worse time for him as he was getting games and building up a head of steam with some impressive performances.
