Tom Cleverley vs SunderlandBeyond scoring Manchester United’s second, Tom Cleverley had one of his better games in a United shirt as we beat Sunderland.

After impressing in the Olympics it was hoped that Cleverley would be cement his place in Manchester United’s midfield but he has had an up and down season so far.

But coming into the side against City beside Michael Carrick he looked good and built on that showing with an eye catching 75 minutes against Sunderland on Saturday.

At times you feel that he doesn’t get the praise he deserves and I personally have heard the word ‘overrated’ used too frequently when discussing him but with showings like this he should start getting his just dues.

This is the Cleverley we’ve all been waiting for. Even the simple things he does such as always being available for a pass is a big difference; but if he continues to add longer range passing and goals to his game then we should have a real asset on our hands.

Who the hell calls him overrated? The lad is quality, but I don’t mind if he doesn’t get too much media attention. Cleverley is improving and becoming more confident with every game. The speed of his play is vital and his passing is improving. Its clear he needs to add more goals but he definitely has 10 goals a season in him.
