angelo henriquez is ready to prove a pointHaving completed his loan to Wigan, Manchester United youngster Angelo Henriquez is ready to set about proving he is cut out for the Premier League.

The 18 year old was signed in the summer from Universidad De Chile but has had to make do with appearances in United’s u21 side where he has scored twice.

But Henriquez is now looking for more chances to show what he can do at a higher level, hopefully starting against Bournemouth in the FA Cup this Saturday:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for me and I am really excited after the manager has given this chance for me to prove myself. Now I need to work to try and earn my place in the team.”

With the addition of Henriquez to his side, Wigan manager Roberto Martinez believes the striker can make the difference and thinks he can get the most out of the youngster in his spell at the DW Stadium:

“We’re really excited about Angelo because he is a very young man with a huge potential. He’s a goalscorer with clever movement inside the box and has had a very successful time with his former club Universidad.

“We hope to have a good partnership in terms of allowing Angelo to develop as a footballer and learn of the demands of the English game, because I feel he can bring us something different in the forward line.”

The shocking part is that noone is looking to take Macheda. I had big hopes for the lad, very disappointing. Macheda has all the skills, i dont know what went wrong.

Its a great chance for Angelo and hopefully he does well for Wigan. Its a good move because he is playing under a top manager. If Martinez stays on next season, and Angelo does well, then I see no reason why he wouldn’t stay on loan next season with Wigan.
