Manchester United youngster and Portuguese u17 goalkeeper Joel Castro Pereira is enjoying his time at Old Trafford, and has set himself the target of becoming Manchester United’s #1.
Aged just 16 and already 6ft 2, the Swiss born goalkeeper nicknamed ‘The Cat’ joined Manchester United this summer, and although having to share goalkeeping duties with Pierluigi Gollini and Jonny Sutherland, the stopper has shown talent in his appearances for the u18s.
With his eyes on the first team, the keeper spoke to maisfutebol about his goals at the club:
“My goal is clear, to be the future number one of Manchester United.
“I have to be ambitious.
‘When I walked into Old Trafford, I realised it’s where I realise I wanted to be.”
Whilst he is eyeing David De Gea’s place in the team, Pereira claims the Spanish keeper is a great player to have around on the training ground and looks after him:
“Besides being an excellent goalkeeper, is a great guy. I like him a lot, every day has a new joke to tell me.”

You kind of look at De Gea being our goalkeeper for the next 10-15 years. It will be hard for any young goalkeeper.

I hope fergie is doing what is good for man utd
As united fan am very dissapointed that man utd has accept the offer of hull city for robbie brady in an 2 million deal transfer. After progba, morrisson and then brady if that goes like that why the send youngster on loan and R.brady is a promising winger who got international cap too.
