José Mourinho in presser

Whilst Jose Mourinho prepares to face Manchester United in the knockout stages of the Champions League tomorrow, the Portuguese manager has jovially ruled himself out of the running to replace Sir Alex Ferguson.

Speaking in his press conference this afternoon, Mourinho confirmed that his destination after Real Madrid is likely to be England. Mourinho has endured a rough time in the Spanish capital this season especially and it is believed that he will call time on his tenure at the end of this season.

Whilst he is making plans for the future, Mourinho doesn’t intend to replace Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford, simply because the two will be retiring at the same time!

“I can’t see myself replacing Sir Alex, we’ll finish our careers at the same time; he at 90 years & I at 70.”

Mourinho also offered his opinion on Marca’s inflammatory piece on Wayne Rooney saying:

“Rooney was called a hooligan? I don’t know the context in which it was written. I support him, I’m called worse things every week.”
