Brazilian midfielder Anderson has revealed that he has previously tried to leave Manchester United.

Anderson has had a tough time since joining United in 2007 with indifferent form and injuries the story of his spell. The much loved Brazilian famously fled to Brazil in January 2010, with stories that a move to Vasco De Gama was on the cards, but later returned to the club.

Speaking to Globo Esporte about a move back to Portugal, the Brazilian said:

“What can I say? I have three more years of contract, I have tried to leave many times and never succeeded to do so.”

This season Anderson has again shown he is capable of holding down a position in United’s midfield, and whilst injury has again thwarted his attempts, uncertainty about Fletcher as well as the retirement of the likes of Giggs and Scholes could see the 24 year old’s become a more prominent player for Sir Alex.
