Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic has severed ties with Aleksandar Kolarov and Matija Nastasic ahead of Monday’s Manchester derby.
Vidic is good friends with Serbs Kolarov and Nastasic, but feels the best way to get his game face on is to cut out the niceties with his countrymen.
‘I never speak with an opponent before a game.
‘I am good friends with Kolarov and Nastasic. But I don’t like to talk.
‘I like to go there and do it. On game day I think about the game, I don’t waste energy before the game starts, otherwise you end up tired.’
Having missed Monday’s game with Chelsea, Vidic may start against City alongside Rio Ferdinand especially with Jonny Evans picking up a knock.
United’s 15 point cushion at the top of the league almost makes the result of the game irrelevant, but in terms of bragging rights it remains huge. Last time the two sides met at Old Trafford in the league United were thrashed 6-1, so United have a chance to exercise some revenge and open a further gap over Mancini’s men.
