Danny Welbeck Celebrates Vs RealMadrid

Danny Welbeck is targeting a central role next season as he looks to improve his fortunes in front of goal.

The forward found the net just twice this season, a drastic decrease from the 12 he scored in the 2011/2012 season, but this can be attributed partly to the fact he featured largely in wide positions.

With the England international making a career high number of appearances in a season, his goal return has left him disappointed but Welbeck feels that he can rectify this if played through the middle.

Speaking to MUTV, the 22 year old said:

“This season has been the most number of matches I have played and my performances have been a lot more consistent but the goals return has not been good at all.

“I do feel if I can get a better goals return I will be flying.

“I want to be up front and scoring goals.

“If I am playing on the wings I still want to score more goals but preferably I will be up front and scoring goals there.”

Let your football do the talking for you, boy. Blah, blah blah, as though he plays any better than the players we have got. Hope moyes shifts you out. Playing attacking football is not all about running the field like a headless chicken. Football has to do with skills and instict, and Welbeck simply doesnt have both.
