An unhappy Shinji Kagawa was named MOTM vs Italy

Last night Japan were eliminated from the Confederations Cup, after  a 4-3 defeat to Italy in what will inevitably go down as one of the, if not the, games of the competition.

In a match that ebbed back and forth, Italy finally secured their place in the semi finals after a late goal from Sebastian Giovinco but it was Manchester United’s Shinji Kagawa that earned rave reviews for his display.

The Japanese playmaker got on the scoresheet and pulled the strings as Japan took a 2 goal lead and pushed Italy to the limit.

As you can see above, being named man of the match was scant consolation for the United man as his team suffered their second defeat and will be heading home from the competition.
