will have met with this week to discuss his future and whilst many believe that the striker wants to stay at , what can do if talks prove fruitless?

Spanish paper Sport believe United could be doing further business with this summer, reporting a player plus money move for the United striker.

The paper claim that Barcelona are ready to offer €25m plus for the United forward, an offer that United would surely consider.

Despite being Spain’s all time leading goal scorer, Villa has been deemed surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp and has found playing time hard to come by. The 31 year old has been linked with both and Tottenham but would United be interested in signing the player that put the 2011 final to bed with a spectacular goal at Wembley?

Barcelona are looking to get him off their books but are hoping for a fee around €12m that nobody has yet seemed willing to match but incorporating him into a move for United would kill two birds with one stone for the Catalan giants as Sport seem to think:

“If David Moyes is interested in signing David Villa and wanted to him in a potential transfer,  would be willing to pay up to €25m to sign Rooney.”

If Rooney isn’t keen on sticking around, as said before, I feel this is something United should look into.
