Wayne Rooney situation to be resolved next week?

The Daily Mirror are reporting that Wayne Rooney is having an adverse effect on the Manchester United dressing room, and are imploring David Moyes to sort out the matter as soon as possible.

Moyes seemed adamant yesterday telling the press that the striker was not for sale, but wasn’t able to give a straight answer when asked if Rooney had told him he wants to stay. With Moyes confirming that he had met with the striker several times, you would think that it is a question that has arisen. With Moyes unable to answer, many believe that Rooney is looking for a move away from Old Trafford.

With this in mind, The Mirror claim that his team mates want a resolution to the matter as senior figures in the dressing room believe that it may have a negative affect on the team’s preparations for the upcoming season saying:

‘United’s players want to concentrate on getting ready to defend their Premier League title and do not want to be constantly asked about Rooney over the coming weeks.’

The Mirror also claim that uncertainty about Rooney’s future is having affecting United’s transfer plans:

‘There are concerns that the lasting uncertainty over Rooney could have a knock-on effect on United’s incoming transfer business.

‘United’s players would love to see Cristiano Ronaldo return to Old Trafford, but it would be tough to push ahead with a move for the Real Madrid star without being sure of Rooney’s future.’
